Standard 7: Teachers reflect on, evaluate and improve their professional knowledge and practice.
Be aware of their own strengths, preferences and needs as a learner, and can identify areas for development as an emerging practitioner and member of the profession.
In this standard it is important for graduate teachers to be able to understand their own knowledge and abilities and how their teaching experience helps create future decisions. It is through this, that supporting professional practice comes through a teachers understanding and evaluation on their own techniques.
As the times change, so do the necessary skills as a teacher It is a career where development and continual learning is always required (Dillon & Maguire, 2011). For any teacher to be successful continual reflection is crucial. Reflection needs to happen both collectively and individually to achieve an honest and subjective evaluation all way round. Reflection needs to happen across all areas of teaching from classroom management, to social networking in the staff room to help develop and establish as a teacher. Corcoran states "teachers reflecting on their practice are constantly and rationally selecting a given option or course of action with a careful analysis of the possible consequences of those decisions and judgments on student learning" (Cocoran, 2003) it is the effects of evaluation that can lead to the students receiving the most positive reactions. Being aware of your own strengths as a teacher is something advantageous, it recognises that you can realise what you have to give to a school or a team and be able to use them to help correct and rectify some weaknesses.
Below is three separate reports from three different associate teachers. It is these comments that I take on board and hope to correct and develop these criticisms in order to become more aware of my abilities as a teacher and a life long learner.

No teacher is ever perfect, regardless of what part of their career they are in. These two above images are a list of improvements required from my last two placements. I'm determined to correct these issues with time and experience. Particularly elements such as accessible work sheets and elements I have been working on at university and using this feedback to reflect and correct.
