Design lesson and unit plans which integrate a range of activities, resources, and materials to support learning, including the use of ICT and other learning technologies
Within this standard it is important that the teacher gives students the ability to have access to clear and concise instructions related to the ultimate goal or objective of the class. In this strand it is important for teachers to set goals for the individual as well as the class, allowing students to grow not only as themselves but their social abilities as well.
In the twenty first century ICT skills are an important part of development in students as well as their understanding of the world around them. ICT however should never replace a traditional learning style, however just assist in achieving goals and educational aims (Pashler, et. al, 2009). Through my placement experiences, I have learnt that students in high school are exceptional with technology, and will use it as much as they can. This has many positives in a sense, but also has a downfall when it comes to doing routine tasks like writing notes off the board. While I embrace technology in my classroom, I do my best not to become a sole reliant on it in my classroom. Teaching is being thrown head first into technology (Tremblay, 2010).

Below are examples of two assignments I submitted during my time at university. These assignments are both work that I am extremely proud to present as for it was driven at effective learning with ensuring student engagement. I did this through effective activities and regular formative assessment so I could see student progression.
The assignment below was a creativity based assignment to assess students on a unit of work. Through thorough planning, the goals and expectations of the students within this unit is clearly set out and stated. Student ICT use is highly encouraged within this sequence.
